We are partnered with a Series C, venture-backed RegTech company building mission-critical software to detect, prevent, and investigate payments fraud. The platform sits at the intersection of real-time payments, risk, and compliance, helping financial institutions and payment providers reduce fraud while maintaining seamless customer experiences.

AI and machine learning are foundational to the product. As transaction volumes scale and fraud patterns evolve in real time, the company relies on advanced models and data systems to stay ahead of increasingly sophisticated adversaries.

    • Deep understanding of fraud, risk, or anomaly detection in payments or financial services
    • Experience with modern ML stacks, including Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and cloud-based infrastructure
    • Familiarity with streaming data, real-time inference, and high-volume transaction systems
    • Strong foundations in statistics, experimentation, and model evaluation
    • Comfortable operating in regulated or compliance-heavy environments
    • Able to balance technical depth with pragmatic delivery in fast-moving teams

    Why Apply?

    • Work on high-impact, real-world AI problems in the payments fraud space
    • Own critical ML systems that directly influence financial risk outcomes
    • Operate at Staff level with significant technical autonomy and influence
    • Partner closely with senior engineers, product leaders, and data teams
    • Join a well-funded Series C company with clear product-market fit
    • Help shape the long-term AI and ML foundations of a scaling RegTech platform

    Role Brief: Head of Credit
Reports to: Chief of Staff & CEO

    Location: Austin, Texas
    The Opportunity
The company operates at the intersection of B2B payments and credit, serving SMBs with increasingly sophisticated products. As the business scales, we are hiring our first Head of Credit to define and own our credit strategy end-to-end.
This is a senior, high-impact role focused on building credit frameworks, policies, and portfolio strategy — not simply approving deals. The Head of Credit will shape how credit is done across payments-led credit, trade credit, and enterprise underwriting.

    Scope of Role

    • Own credit strategy across lending products and B2B payments
    • Cover commercial credit, underwriting standards, credit policy, and portfolio strategy
    • Define credit metrics, decision frameworks, and internal policies
    • Translate market and bank partner expectations into scalable credit processes

    Key Responsibilities

    • Set and refine credit policy, underwriting standards, and risk frameworks
    • Monitor and actively manage portfolio-level credit performance
    • Increase automation, documentation quality, and decision consistency
    • Provide strategic direction to underwriting and risk activities
    • Support bank and funding partner relationships
    • Manage one underwriter initially, with responsibility to scale the function over time

    Success Measures
    First 6 Months

    • Refined credit policy and underwriting standards
    • Improved documentation and decision criteria
    • Increased automation in credit processes

    12 Months

    • Full ownership of credit direction and activities
    • Scalable, repeatable credit frameworks in place

    Longer Term

    • Build and lead the full underwriting and credit organization

    Candidate Profile

    • Ideally 10+ years’ experience (strong candidates with 8+ years considered)
    • Background in B2B payments, trade finance, or commercial credit
    • Large bank experience acceptable (strong policy discipline valued)
    • Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments
    • Step-up candidates with strong technical capability and high potential encouraged

    What Sets You Apart

    • Clear and well-defined credit philosophy
    • Proven ability to balance risk and growth
    • Experience building or materially shaping credit frameworks
    • Strong communicator with commercial and leadership teams

    Culture Fit

    • Entrepreneurial and improvement-oriented
    • Comfortable building structure where none yet exists
    • Excited by ownership and long-term impact
