As part of its next phase of growth, the company is hiring a Director of Credit to help scale and oversee its lending, card, and capital markets activities.
Role Description:
The Director of Credit will primarily be responsible for assessing the financial strength of businesses and franchise operators, producing data-driven credit decisions, maintaining a disciplined credit culture as they scale originations, pipeline planning, and portfolio / funding management. This role combines underwriting, portfolio analytics, risk policy development, and cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Product and Growth.
Responsibilities:
- Underwrite business and franchisee borrowers using financial statements and unit-level economics.
- Set and adjust credit limits, loan structures, and loan pricing based on emerging performance and portfolio trends.
- Produce high-quality credit memos and present recommendations to senior leadership and capital partners.
- Help manage customer credit portfolios (includes loans, card receivables, and AP financing).
- Contribute to credit policy development, scorecard improvements, and data-driven risk rules across lending and charge-card products.
- Assist in managing and tracking funding partnerships and credit pipelines.
- Assist in FP&A, modeling, and company projections.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of underwriting or credit risk experience in SMB lending, franchise finance, or commercial banking.
- Strong analytical capability: financial statement analysis, cash-flow assessment, sensitivity scenarios, and risk grading.
- General experience with accounting and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with QSR/franchise models, unit economics, and operator risk factors (preferred).
- Clear, concise communicator able to synthesize data into actionable credit recommendations.
- Desire to work in hyper growth startup environment.
Key information:
$125,000-$150,000 Base + bonus + equity.
NYC office is in Landmark building; we are all in the office collaborating and working together every day. We expect significant office attendance and in person contribution.
