About The Role:
‘As the Director of Engineering, you will:
* Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and performance management to a distributed ‘engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and learning.
Define and implement our engineering roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
‘Oversee architectural decisions and technical choices that will ensure the development of scalable, reliable, and secure systems, delivered on schedule.
Develop engineering KPIs, manage sprints, and remove blockers to maintain velocity.
Be hands-on enough to provide oversight, help write and review product and development design documents, perform code reviews, and set direction,
Evaluate and integrate new technologies where appropriate.
Keep current with industry trends and emerging technologies, especially in Al.
Participate in budgeting and resource planning conversations with the CTO.

We also expect the right candidate to meet the following criteria:
- 8+ years in software engineering roles, including 3+ years in engineering leadership.
- Be proficient in tooling and practices around industry-standard generative AI systems.
- Have a track record of managing and scaling engineering teams in a high-growth environment.
- Have strong development skills in modern programming languages, such as Python.
- Have deep familiarity with cloud services (AWS/GCP), distributed systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Have a strong understanding of relational databases, like Postgres and MySQL.
- Possess strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Possess an analytical mind, with a bias for action and pragmatic problem-solving.
- Are interested and excited by the challenges and opportunities of startup life.
